We are crawling!

As of this past Wednesday, Pace is officially crawling. Everyday she gets faster and more efficient at getting to all of the things she is not supposed to. From the dog food bowl to electrical outlets, she is fascinated by it all and shows no signs of slowing down. She is very intrigued by the Christmas tree and the presents and I have included some video both of enjoying the tree and crawling. Click on the red "x's" to view the clips.

We have a big week coming up as we will find out on Friday if Pace will have a baby brother or a baby sister on the way. We are going to try and keep it a secret until Christmas and let everyone know on Christmas day. Regardless, we are looking forward to the holidays and to spending time with friends and family.

Last week Pace and I attended a cookie exchange. There were six babies there ranging in age from 9 months to 24 months. Needless to say we were unable to get a group shot. We also had a visit from Momee and we had a trip to the Red Barn for supper to celebrate her visit. We were in Cordele the weekend before for the Spurlock family Christmas and Pace enjoyed seeing all of her cousins. We also took Pace to Jacksonville to see Santa for the first time. Her friends Lanie and her Mama Mandi went with us as well. Pace and Lanie liked eachother a lot more than they liked Santa!

Keep scrolling down to see pictures from all of our activites. We are staying busy and looking forward to all the festivities ahead. Check the blog after the holidays to see video and updates of her first Christmas. Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving! It has been more than a month since I have updated the blog and Pace, Eric and I have been busy. We had a great Thanksgiving and Pace, the Yorkies and I enjoyed an extended stay in Albany. We were there about two weeks and enjoyed lots of time with family and friends. Pace enjoyed spending lots of time with her CeCe and Poppy and her D-Da and Boppy and also spent some time with her friends Avery, Mary Whit and Worth. I enjoyed catching up with Brandy and with Tait and seeing all of our family. She spent some time in the tub with Cole and had a good time watching Gleaton run around. He tried to teach her how to crawl, but did not have much success.
I have included a few pictures from our time in Albany as well as a video of Pace listening to Momee playing the piano for the first time. She seemed to love having a concert played in her honor and the pianist seemed to enjoy giving her one. Click on the red "x" to watch.
I even got to go away to Atlanta for the night and left Pace for the first time. She spent the night with her Daddy and the Davis' and they all appeared to have a ball. I went to Atlanta with Momee, Mama, Marlin, Melmo and Addie to see "White Christmas" at the Fox Theatre. We enjoyed singing along and felt for sure that Mama and Melody would be excellent understudies. They didn't think they had the 18" waists to fit in the costume though. They even had snow blowing outside when you left the theatre and it was quite a treat. We had a nice dinner out and got a little shopping in as well. Marlin and I tried desperately to update her closet, but she didn't find a thing. We were all pooped after all the activity and I was glad to get home and see my baby!
Eric and I also let the family know that ours would be growing once again. We are due next June and excited about the upcoming addition. I have been pretty tired and have had many days of the nausea. It was nice to have some extra help with Pace while I was home. I even got to make a trip to Phoebe Putney for fluids because I became dehydrated. Unfortunately, that was how most of the family found out about the news. It was not exactly how I had anticipated sharing the news, but oh well. Once I got some fluids I felt much better (despite continued nausea) and hope that all of this will be passing soon. I feel as if I act very much like an old person these days because all I can talk about is my nausea and what medications I am taking. For that reason, I will move on to something else.
Pace now has 5 teeth and one more just coming through. That will make 3 on top and 3 on bottom and she is putting them to work. Thanksgiving dinner was quite the treat for her. She ate everything from apple salad to squash casserole to rice, dressing and peas. She did not want to miss one bite! She is not crawling yet, but desperately wants to. She is pulling up on everything and actually stands alone for several seconds (until she realizes what she is doing). We are excited about practicing the "loney baby" and maybe she will walk before she crawls. She seems much more interested in that rather than wallowing on her tummy. Regardless, I think we have a few more weeks before she is mobile and I am rather glad since I stay tired all the time (see there I go again with my sickness!).
Christmas came early for Eric because he went fishing last weekend and caught 8 sailfish. He had a ball and it has been all he can talk about. Pace, Eric and I came back to St. Simons the Friday after Thanksgiving and we have enjoyed having the weekend to catch up. Eric left me plenty of laundry, but the house was relatively in order. I think I am now just oblivious to the dirt and clutter though. It seems easier to ignore it with each passing day. We did get our Christmas tree today and Eric got the lights on it. We have hauled everything down from the attic and I will try and get the ornaments on tomorrow.
Pace and I both have doctors appointments this week. I go tomorrow and she goes Friday for her 9 month check up. She is a few weeks late in going, but we had to change because we were in Albany. I will update with her progress and the peanut's progress. We are hoping that we might find out what the baby will be right before Christmas. It will be pushing it, but maybe!
I think I will start updating the blog on a monthly basis because I seem to have a lot more to say! I try to make it interesting on a daily basis, but she and I have a pretty basic routine. It usually involves Harris Teeter or Target. Well, that is about all for now. Enjoy the video and the pictures and I will update soon.

Happy Halloween!

Pace has had a great first Halloween. We met her friend Lanie who dressed up as a Ladybug for lunch and the two got a lot of attention! We also ran into her friend Jack at lunch and he was dressing up as a shark. They were a cute crew for sure! Her Daddy came home early to celebrate with her and she was pooped from all the activity. I have posted two new videos...enjoy!

Surprise!! Eric was definitely caught off guard with the big surprise party. The official party took place on Friday, October 5th. Luckily, I had a lot of help and the evening was a success. The Davis' came over first thing that morning so that I could get some help with Pace and some help in setting up. Eric's dad helped me fill tiki torches, set up tables, etc and we were doing all of this in the pouring down rain! I just knew the evening would be a washout!

Luckily, the rain held off and I was able to get a bigger tent just in case. Although the tent did not get set up until about 15 minutes before the start of the party, it all came together. It was humid and muggy, but at least no rain. Everyone seemed to enjoy the BBQ, the band and the beer (not necessarily in that order!) and we had a lot of good friends come to support Eric. We even had a surprise guest...Kenny Chesney. Well, not quite the real thing but a lifesize cutout made an appearance in honor of the occasion. My family came later that day to help with the final preparations and then Pat Dunn was my diversion for Eric. It was hectic and busy, but a lot of fun.

Happy 30th Birthday! Enjoy the pictures...sorry they always seem to crop too far to the right, but not sure how to fix that.

Wednesday, October 3, 2007

Eric is officially the big 3-0! We celebrated last night with a cookout and despite the rain it was a lot of fun. Kevin and Linda Lokey and their two children Collier and Aiden came to help us celebrate. We ate a lot and even saved room for some of the 9 layer chocolate cake! Eric actually believed that Pace and I baked the cake and was quite impressed. Sugarbakers did a much better job than I ever could!

It is still raining over here and hope it will clear out soon. Eric is fishing in a big tournament this weekend to benefit cystic fibrosis. We are going to a silent auction tomorrow night and then to a big dinner on Saturday night. I am actually having a social life this week. The Davis' will be coming in from Albany for the weekend to see Eric for his birthday and to babysit Pace so that we can go to the dinner.

Enjoy the pictures of the birthday and I will update again in a day or two!

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Happy 30th Birthday to Eric today! Pace is excited to be throwing a party for her Daddy tonight. We are having our friends (The Lokeys) over for dinner and we are going to celebrate Eric's big day. Pace and I have been cooking all morning. We were going to bake a cake, but when Eric said he wanted a 10 layer cake we figured we better order one. We are going to pick it up when she wakes up from her nap.
Yesterday, Pace and I met her friends Jack and Brody down by the Pier for some lunch. A lunch with a 7 month old, an 8 month old and a 1 year old is not as relaxing as you might think it to be! The three little monkeys kept us busy and we enjoyed a stroll down by the ocean after lunch. Rain showers cut the day short, but Pace was ready for a nap anyway. I have included some video of her and her friend Jack (8 months old) down by the water.
That is about all I have time for now since we have a party to get ready for! Pace and I will put some pictures on the blog later this week of all of the festivities!

I haven't had much time to update the blog lately... so sorry for the delay! Pace has been busy growing and changing every day. She has spent a lot of time lately trying new foods and her absolute favorite is cheese! The two teeth on the bottom help her to gnaw on new foods and she cannot get enough. She also had a taste of brown rice, pita bread, and yogurt. She has turned up her nose at many of the fruits lately, but the Yo Baby yogurt is a sure fire way to get her to eat some fruit. She is still enjoying her vegetables (especially peas!)and had a few pieces of squash that was steamed and cut into pieces. We did the same with a banana and she is trying to figure that out, but it is fun to watch.

We have also had some company in the last week or so. Boppy came to spend three days with us and we had a great time. She strolled with Pace, and pushed her in the swing and showed her all the butterflies that were flying around the yard. We also went to Jacksonville for a few hours one day. I wasn't sure how she would do with a day at the mall, but she did much better than I expected. We took her lunch and she ate part of it in the shoe store! She was pooped after all of that and so were we! It was a full day trying to keep her happy and get a little shopping done at the same time! We had a good time though.

We also had Aunt Sassy and Uncle Todd come to visit Pace. They were on their way home from a meeting in Savannah and stopped by to visit for a while. Pace enjoyed showing them all of her new tricks.

We have a busy week this week because Eric turns the big 3-0! Pace and I plan to bake him a cake on Tuesday. He requested a 15 layer chocolate cake...we will have to see how that goes! We are going to cook supper for him to and let him open his presents. We have lunch plans one day with her friends Jack and Brody and we hope to see her friend Lanie one day. We went to visit Mandi and Lanie in St. Mary's one day last week as well. Pace had a ball playing with all of her toys and looking at her dog Maddie. She also put her feet in Lanie's grandmother's pool and rode in their golf cart. It was a big day.

Between all the company, traveling to St. Mary's one day and to Jacksonville for the day, and day to day routine, we haven't had much time for anything else. Still no sign of her crawling...maybe soon. She is babbling up a storm and loves calling "Da Da." We are still practicing on Bye Bye and waving, but we need more time with that. We are also working on mastering "patting cakes." I think she will have that before long! I have included a few recent videos...one of her in the tub and one of her taking interest in Simon. She really loves watching the Yorkies, but seems to prefer Simon. Maybe it is Simon's big ears?? Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to Aunt Marlin today and Happy 7 month birthday to me tomorrow! It is hard to believe that I am 7 months old!

Today has been a good day with Mama. She has been trying to teach me to wave "bye bye." I am starting to get the hang of it, but need a few more days to practice. We went out to stroll a couple of times and we think it is going to rain any minute, but none yet. We had a nice breeze and it has been fun to get out and swing in my new swing outside. Mama says she will get some pictures of that soon. In the meantime, enjoy that latest videos of me in the Johnny Jump Up, Exersaucer, and me on the porch before bed time. Click on the red "x" to view the three videos!

Pace and I enjoyed a week in Albany and glad to be back home with Eric. She had a full week of visiting with family and friends and trying lots of new things.

The big news is that she is the proud owner of two bottom teeth! They both broke through the skin this week and should be showing up in pictures soon. In the meantime, she continues to drool a lot and chew on absolutely everything. Luckily, the teeth haven't given her too much trouble and she is happy as usual (for the most part!).

We started the week off by celebrating Cousin Cole's first birthday. Pace was downing rice cereal while Cole dug into his cake, but is was clear that Cole preferred his macaroni and cheese over birthday cake. He may change is mind with a little time! Cole did a good job of teaching Pace a thing or two about eating this week. I have no doubt that Dr. Al Jabi will be proud of her weight when we return for her 9 month check up or either she will need a diet! Pace tried several new foods this week and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. She tried butter beans for the first time, dumplings (courtesy of Mary Jones' homemade chicken and dumplings that were delicious!), a vanilla wafer, a graham cracker, and grits. At that rate, I don't think she will be petite for long! I think she was ready to put my homemade baby food and Gerber down as she is learning what else is out there.

Pace also had her 6 month pictures made and you could tell she is used to being in front of the camera. She put on a regular show with lots of smiles and talking for the camera. Speaking of talking, she is now saying "Da Da." Eric is quite pleased because we were quite competitive about her saying Mama or Daddy first. He was coaching her every night once he heard her babbling Ma Ma. We will see what she strings together first in the coming months. I think she and I will have to have some phonics lessons on the "M" sounds while he is at work so Mama can win that competition!

Pace spent one day at the Lake and enjoyed a lunch at Cutt's restaurant. By the way, that is where she got her first butter bean, courtesy of the cook that brought her a small bowl just for her. She was delighted to try one. I was not as delighted when I starting thinking about what those butter beans were cooked with to taste so good, but I guess a few won't hurt. Boopsie's friends, Pam and Denny Jordan came by the lake to return a trailer and we enjoyed comparing notes as her granddaughter, Read, is 3 weeks older than Pace. I got the chance to water ski which I guess will be the last time of the season. Marlin and I also rode the tube with Gleaton and enjoyed riding in the boat with D-Da. It was a little rough at times and Gleaton said the "waves are ridiculous!"

I spent a little time at Logos Plus as I am thinking of entering the ad specialty world here in St. Simons. Marlin spent more time than she has trying to help me get started and I guess I will begin figuring it out as I go. I did get my first order and will probably make about $16 dollars after taxes. I figure I owe at least half of that to Marlin since she did most of the work!

Pace and I also enjoyed visiting with her Poppy, Nana and Papa, and Aunt Kathy and Uncle Al. Pace really put on a show at the Fazekas' and I have included some video of her talking for them at their house. We also got to see Brandy and baby Avery and Tillman. Pace spent some time at Ma and D's house in Dawson and we had lunch with Momee one day at Doublegate (although it was a quick lunch as Pace was not in the mood to sit still!).

Today was spent enjoying some quality time with her Daddy. We took a stroll down to the Pier and watched people fishing and the boats go by (we even got mooned by a boat passing by, but I covered her eyes!). We went to Target in search of a high chair after she did so well with the one at Boopsie's. However, the selection was poor and I am going to get online tonight to see what I can find.

I have included various pictures and 5 video clips from the week. Click on the red "X" to view Pace and Cole in the wagon and at the lake, Pace in the high chair, and Pace at Aunt Kathy and Uncle Al's. I will update again in a few days. Enjoy!

Happy Labor Day!

We had a big weekend here in St. Simons with Pace's cousins, Gleaton and Cole. Although it rained most of the weekend, we didn't let it dampen our spirits. Pace enjoyed bathtime with Cousin Cole and Gleaton kept her entertained at all times. She got tired just watching him expend all of his energy! Pace and Cole strolled together and Cole taught her how to eat her first saltine cracker. She thought it was delicious!! It takes her about ten minutes to eat each cracker, but it keeps her busy and she is eating calories. We go back to the doctor on Wednesday for the big "weigh in!" I have no doubt Dr. Al Jabi will be impressed and she won't be reprimanded again. She ate avocado tonight for dinner. I thought that would pack some extra calories and she seemed to enjoy it. She topped it off with some sweet peas in the tub (sometimes I can get her to eat a little extra by eating in the bath!). Whatever works.

Eric spent some time with his grill this weekend and cooked enough ribs and chicken for most of Glynn county. He shared some with the Lokey's and their Labor Day company. He, Kirk, and Gleaton wound up staying down there to watch most of the UGA game and Gleaton had a ball playing kickball with the ten kids that were there. Sunday, Eric, Gleaton and Kirk went to the Strikezone to bowl trying to avoid some of the rain. Gleaton came home loaded down with toys he won playing "skee ball" and basketball.

All in all it was a fun weekend and Pace enjoys seeing her cousins. I have included several videos of them in the tub and Gleaton and Cole jumping rope. Enjoy the pictures and video.

Pace just returned from her trip to the big city. Eric, Pace and I left on Friday to go to Atlanta for the weekend for a wedding. We met her CeCe and Poppy there and they enjoyed babysitting while we attended the wedding festivities. Eric and I went to dinner on Friday night and to the wedding on Saturday. All of a sudden I have a social life again. I guess back to reality now. It is Monday and we are back home and I am covered in a strange mixture of green beans and squash. However, it is good to be back home and have Pace back in her own bed. She wasn't a big fan of sleeping in the hotel. She slept better last night that we were home (until 4:30!). Isn't it sad that is considered a "better" night! One day this child will sleep through the night (she may be 18 though!)

Pace did get the chance to meet my friend Cecelia and her daughter, Sally Taylor. You will see a picture of them on the blog, but Pace had to go down for a nap and missed out on the photo op! I think it is the only photograph she has missed out on since she has been born! Mrs. Carol's cousin RuthAnn also drove up for a visit with Pace. There was plenty of activity to keep her entertained for the weekend.

While we were in Atlanta Pace mastered some new sounds. I am convinced that it is Mama she is saying. I have attached some video so that you can be the judge. Click on the red "x" to view the video. I apologize for Simon's rear end entering the video, but I had worked hard to catch her babbles on the camera and this was one of the best ones!

Pace and I have had a good day today. Fortunately, there were no repercussions from the 6 months shots at all. She was happy as usual all day. We got out early and strolled for a long time before it got too terribly hot and then went again this afternoon.

We also spent much of the day cooking together. She was very much "mommy's little helper." I have attached a photo of her reading the recipes to me. Maybe she will be the next Paula Dean!! Hopefully, her accent won't be quite as country though, but maybe she will have a similar bank account to take care of me in my old age. We cooked a big pork chop supper for her Daddy and we restocked the freezer with homemade baby food for her. We made fresh squash, sweet peas, green beans and cauliflower. The cauliflower was an experiment and I don't think a successful one. She tolerated it, but did not love it. Since we are trying to gain weight I figured I better switch over to something she enjoys more and she finished up with a big bowl of apples. But not too big...I learned my lesson last night with the major explosion she had after overeating! I have attached a video of her enjoying some bananas this morning. Click on the red "x" to watch it.

Tomorrow we are going to play with her friends Jack and Brody at Tamela's house and celebrate Jen's birthday. We are in charge of bringing the cake!

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

Today Pace went to see Dr. Al Jabi for her 6 month check up and for her vaccinations. She did not care much for the shots, but she cried just as much when he looked in her ears. I think she is beginning to learn what the doctor's office means! However, she survived and I didn't even cry this time so I guess I am making progress!

We did get a bit of a reprimand in regards to her weight though. She weighed 14 pounds and 8 ounces which is only up 4 ounces from her 4 month checkup. Also, she remained at 26 inches long which is what she measured at her 4 month checkup. We made a game plan of introducing a third meal of solids every day and going back to nursing every 3 hours. Then we will go back in 2 week for a weigh in and he hopes that she will have gained a pound. A pounds sounds like a lot to gain in 2 weeks since she only gained 4 ounces in the last 2 months! But we will certainly try.

We started trying to eat a big meal tonight. Pace put her game face on and got ready to eat a large supper! As you can see from the pictures she enjoyed the meal immensely. Dr. Al Jabi told me to feed her until she refused it...so I did. She ate rice cereal mixed with homemade sweet potatoes and squash. After that she still was interested so I fed her a mixture of squash and corn. Those last few bites put her over the edge and she threw up everywhere!! I am not exaggerating and have included pictures as evidence. At least she had the decency not to throw up on the carpet...that would have been a mess that even Stanley Steamer couldn't touch! After that fiasco it was bath time and I have included some video of her cleaning up.

So far no ill effects from the shots and we hope that she will sleep well tonight. I guess it is legitimate her waking up around 4 AM for a feeding since she is a bit underweight. We will keep at it and possibly have to get her Cousin Cole to give her an in-service on eating. I have no doubt that he would be an excellent teacher leading by example, but not sure he would want to share much...he has quite the appetite! Well, tomorrow is a new day and we will focus on eating lots and may have to load her diaper with a few rocks before the weigh in.

Enjoy the pictures and the video!

Happy 6 Month Birthday to Pace! Today she is six months old and it is hard to believe! Luckily, we won't be celebrating today with a doctors appointment. We will wait and do that tomorrow. Today I think we will celebrate by giving her the usual milkshake. We will wait at least until the first birthday before we do cake and ice cream. Although she did have real mashed bananas this morning and I guess that counts as a celebratory meal. However, she seems to prefer Gerber bananas over the real thing!

Right now she is taking a good nap and I am taking advantage of the opportunity to update the blog. We had a quiet weekend right here at home and enjoyed some time here with Eric. We did make it to church, but very late because Pace decided to take an extended nap. We went on several walks and even took a trip to Target. Exciting I know...

It is still hot over here so we are strolling either early in the day or late in the afternoon. Today Sophie and Simon are getting haircuts so I will add pictures of them when they get home. The Yorkies should definitely have their picture on the blog!

We are getting ready for a big weekend. We are heading to Atlanta to go to a wedding. CeCe and Poppy will go as well and it should be fun! Click on the red "x" to see video of Pace today.

Pace gets vocal in her swimming pool. Although she is still quiet this is the most I can get out of her in fron of the camera. Click on the x to see video.
Today Pace and I have been very busy. We started the day with a swim in the Atlantic with the dolphins, then a hot air baloon ride over the pier, and finally a little bit of sand skiing on the beach. Just kidding...I was just curious if anyone is really reading my blog or not. Thought I would spice it up a little just to see if anyone was paying attention.

Actually Pace and I did get out of the house today. We went to visit her friends Jack and Brody today. However, we had to leave early because we had to get home to meet the UPS man to sign for Eric's new replacement phone (yes for those of you who don't know...he dropped yet another Treo in the ocean!). Pace enjoyed her time at Jack's house and she played with some of his toys.

We took a couple of strolls today, but the heat made us cut them short. We take a short one in the morning and a short one in the afternoon and hopefully that translates into a little exercise for me. Currently, we are waiting on her Daddy to get home from work. Pace is taking a small catnap and is waking up now so I better go get her. Enjoy the pictures as well as a video taken in her pool yesterday.

Monday, August 13, 2007

Eric made it home safely from Mosquito Lagoon yesterday morning. We enjoyed a quiet day at home and Pace enjoyed hanging out with her Daddy. We all went on a stroll together and went to Blockbuster to rent a video.

Today Pace and I went to Kingsland to visit our friends Mandi and Lanie. Pace enjoyed playing with some of Lanie's toys although it took her a few minutes to figure them out. Then we all four went to lunch. Mandi and I decided we should have just stayed at her house because the girls were not interested in watching us eat lunch at all! We ate fast and then got right on the road to head home. We enjoyed our visit and hope that we can get together again soon.

Saturday, August 11, 2007

Today has been another hot one here in St. Simons. Pace and I stayed at home until late this evening we went to meet Linda and Collier Lokey at Bubba Garcia's for some dinner. We went at 5:30 PM, but Pace started to get tired around 6 o'clock and didn't enjoy the outing so much after that. We got the food to go and she was asleep before I could get to the house. I gave her a quick bath and put her right to bed and she is snoozing soundly now. I am eagerly watching the weather channel as I listen to it thunder outside. I hope we can get some much needed rain. Eric returns home tomorrow and Pace and I will be glad to see him.

Pace enjoys taking a bath. Click on "x" to view video.
Today is Friday, August 10, 2007 and I am just getting around to updating our day from yesterday. Eric made it safely to Mosquito Lagoon in Florida to fish for a few days. I don't know about you but anything named Mosquito Lagoon does not sound like vacation to me. However, he is with Patrick Galloway, Pat Dunn, Kevin Lokey and his Beavertail (his boat) so he is in hog heaven I am sure.

Pace and I are trying to do anything we can to stay cool while he is gone. That gets increasingly difficult because the news said the heat index in Brunswick yesterday was 120 degrees! We stayed around the house mostly, but did run into Target to get me a jump rope. It has been too hot to stroll with her these past few days so I thought that would be a good way to get a little exercise after she goes to sleep. We almost met our friends Jack and Jen at Chick Fil A for lunch. Then it was back home for milk and a nap. She spent a little time in her pool late yesterday naked as a jaybird and seemed to enjoy that. She got really tickled and will post some pictures of her smiles. I am also adding some video of her bath last night.

Today has been really hot! We made some oatmeal cookies and delivered them to Nina at Eric's office and to our friend Tamela. We also went to Blockbuster to rent a movie to watch after she goest to bed. Pace was excited because I spotted a swing like I have been looking for to put up for her outside at Whippersnappers. We will have to go back and get it for her when it cools off a bit and Eric gets back and can hang it for her. That is about all for today....

August 8, 2007:

Today has been a big day. First of all we started off with a really good night's sleep!! She slept from 7 PM to 5:45 AM! She ate and went back to sleep until 8 o'clock. Whatever we did last night we need to try and do again!

All that good rest helped her get off to a good start this morning. As you can see from some of the pictures Pace is now sitting up by herself. She can only hold it for a few seconds, but long enough for me to snap a photo or two. She is quite proud of herself and we will keep practicing.

We also had a playdate today with Jack and Lanie. They came over for lunch and spent a few hours this afternoon. Pace enjoyed all the activity although she was ready for a nap after all the excitement. Plus, she needed to catch a few zzzz's before her big date tonight. She and her Daddy had a dinner date at the Red Barn. We went early at 5:45 PM after she ate a big bowl of green beans. Mama took her Bumbo and she sat right on the table and chewed on her toys. She seemed to enjoy being in a barn. It was a quick meal because she was ready for her bath and to get in bed. She and I walked home from Bennie's to work off some of our dinner and it was so hot even this late in the day. She then took a quick bath and off for a good rest (here's hoping!).

Pace had a big day today. Her friends Jack Hughes and Lanie Gross came to visit. Click here to view video.

Pace still enjoys her swing that Momee and Pop gave to her. She entertains herself by sucking on her toes while she is swinging. CLick here to view video

Monday August 6th, 2007"
Well, here it is...The Davis Family Blog. I am sure that you all are excited as I am!! Ha Ha... I am really just learning what a blog is much less how to keep one up. However, I worked diligently all weekend trying to figure out how to post videos and pictures so that friends and family can log on when it is convenient and see what the Davis' are up to. When I say "Davis'" I pretty much mean Pace. She is the star of the show and I imagine she will continue to be. I never tire of watching her day in and day out, but I am aware that many may not like to watch her as long as I do. Therefore, the video clips are short (most no more than a minute so that you can see how she is growing and changing). She has recently found her toes and last night actually got one into her mouth! I am pretty sure she didn't get her flexibility from me. I tried to get the camera in time, but she had already moved on to another activity. She seems to quiet down whenever the camera is around as well. I think she knows what I am trying to do, however, she should be used to the paparazzi by now!
I started the blog with a few pictures from her Christening and will continue to update as often as I can. Keep in mind most of the pictures of Pace will be doing pretty much all the same things...just a different outfit! However, I continue to be amazed by her and each and every smile. Enjoy!

P.S. So far I haven't been able to figure out how to put a picture in the video box, therefore, videos show up as a white box with a red "x" in it. All you have to do is click on the x and it should link you to the video. Once you are linked to the video you should be able to maximize your screen to make it bigger. I will try and remember to type in "click here to view video" so that you will know video is there. Also, in the future I will try keep the video either horizontal or vertical. I didn't realize that I couldn't flip it once I put it on the website.

Pace seems to enjoy her new pool on hot summer days. Her Daddy got in to cool off with her!Click in the box to view video!
Pace still enjoys sucking her fingers. Click on the box to view video!
Pace seems to get quiet whenever the camera is around. I try to capture a few smiles and squeals, but she seems to enjoy staring at the camera instead! Click on the box to view video!

Quiet Weekend

August 5, 2007: Pace enjoyed a quiet weekend with her Mama and Daddy. Daddy spent some time with her in the pool and also went to stroll with us. We enjoyed spending time with him now that he is home from his Alaska fishing trip.
