Happy Thanksgiving! It has been more than a month since I have updated the blog and Pace, Eric and I have been busy. We had a great Thanksgiving and Pace, the Yorkies and I enjoyed an extended stay in Albany. We were there about two weeks and enjoyed lots of time with family and friends. Pace enjoyed spending lots of time with her CeCe and Poppy and her D-Da and Boppy and also spent some time with her friends Avery, Mary Whit and Worth. I enjoyed catching up with Brandy and with Tait and seeing all of our family. She spent some time in the tub with Cole and had a good time watching Gleaton run around. He tried to teach her how to crawl, but did not have much success.
I have included a few pictures from our time in Albany as well as a video of Pace listening to Momee playing the piano for the first time. She seemed to love having a concert played in her honor and the pianist seemed to enjoy giving her one. Click on the red "x" to watch.
I even got to go away to Atlanta for the night and left Pace for the first time. She spent the night with her Daddy and the Davis' and they all appeared to have a ball. I went to Atlanta with Momee, Mama, Marlin, Melmo and Addie to see "White Christmas" at the Fox Theatre. We enjoyed singing along and felt for sure that Mama and Melody would be excellent understudies. They didn't think they had the 18" waists to fit in the costume though. They even had snow blowing outside when you left the theatre and it was quite a treat. We had a nice dinner out and got a little shopping in as well. Marlin and I tried desperately to update her closet, but she didn't find a thing. We were all pooped after all the activity and I was glad to get home and see my baby!
Eric and I also let the family know that ours would be growing once again. We are due next June and excited about the upcoming addition. I have been pretty tired and have had many days of the nausea. It was nice to have some extra help with Pace while I was home. I even got to make a trip to Phoebe Putney for fluids because I became dehydrated. Unfortunately, that was how most of the family found out about the news. It was not exactly how I had anticipated sharing the news, but oh well. Once I got some fluids I felt much better (despite continued nausea) and hope that all of this will be passing soon. I feel as if I act very much like an old person these days because all I can talk about is my nausea and what medications I am taking. For that reason, I will move on to something else.
Pace now has 5 teeth and one more just coming through. That will make 3 on top and 3 on bottom and she is putting them to work. Thanksgiving dinner was quite the treat for her. She ate everything from apple salad to squash casserole to rice, dressing and peas. She did not want to miss one bite! She is not crawling yet, but desperately wants to. She is pulling up on everything and actually stands alone for several seconds (until she realizes what she is doing). We are excited about practicing the "loney baby" and maybe she will walk before she crawls. She seems much more interested in that rather than wallowing on her tummy. Regardless, I think we have a few more weeks before she is mobile and I am rather glad since I stay tired all the time (see there I go again with my sickness!).
Christmas came early for Eric because he went fishing last weekend and caught 8 sailfish. He had a ball and it has been all he can talk about. Pace, Eric and I came back to St. Simons the Friday after Thanksgiving and we have enjoyed having the weekend to catch up. Eric left me plenty of laundry, but the house was relatively in order. I think I am now just oblivious to the dirt and clutter though. It seems easier to ignore it with each passing day. We did get our Christmas tree today and Eric got the lights on it. We have hauled everything down from the attic and I will try and get the ornaments on tomorrow.
Pace and I both have doctors appointments this week. I go tomorrow and she goes Friday for her 9 month check up. She is a few weeks late in going, but we had to change because we were in Albany. I will update with her progress and the peanut's progress. We are hoping that we might find out what the baby will be right before Christmas. It will be pushing it, but maybe!
I think I will start updating the blog on a monthly basis because I seem to have a lot more to say! I try to make it interesting on a daily basis, but she and I have a pretty basic routine. It usually involves Harris Teeter or Target. Well, that is about all for now. Enjoy the video and the pictures and I will update soon.
